Byron Bay, AU
If American 50’s Rhythm and Blues met 60’s rock n roll, and fornicated as an Ozzy/Kiwi ensemble, you would have The Swamps. Big hats, sketchy vests and questionable decibel levels are just some of the loving qualities that this duo exude on stage.
Ripping classic riffs and classic tones, Armitage steers the melody and harmony. Behind him, or i should really say, next to him, Matt Swan (aka Swanny), the craziest animal that ever lived, bashes out classic rock beats with flare and showmanship.
You can tell these boys have been playing together for ages through the massive sound they create as a simple two piece. Dancing, sweating, smiling, and ringing ear drums are some of the side effects you may feel after indulging yourself in a live set.
The Swamps play up and down the East Coast of Australia, and tend to target The Northern, in Byron Bay. If your looking to catch them on a weekday night, just come to Byron and drive through town with your windows down; you’ll find ‘em.
